A Quaker at sea

This is an account by Oscar Wallis of his time as a merchant seaman from 1936 and through the war years. He shares deep reflections about his faith as a Quaker, and illustrates his courage in refusing to undertake gunnery training, which led to a tribunal as a conscientious objector.
